Homeschool Days Program
Homeschool Year runs October-June Third Monday of every month; April & May classes will be held on the fourth Monday in 2017 1:30-3 p.m. Ages 5-13; preregistration is required* One adult free with each child registration; additional adults $15. No charge for children under 5!
Homeschool Days at the NBMAA provide a hands-on, experiential curriculum using the Museum's galleries and art studios as our classroom. Designed for school-aged children, programs are led by Museum educators and feature a different artistic medium, historical period, or special exhibit each month. Join us for the entire curriculum, or the programs that best suit your home teaching. Each program begins in the galleries, with a guided close-looking session that will explore one to two artworks in depth. The conversation continues with a one-hour studio workshop that will allow students to delve deeper into the creative processes behind the works of art that we view. After each program, download our Art Speaks worksheet to help your child reflect on their personal creative process by planning and writing a mock museum exhibition label to accompany their artwork.
*Enrollment is limited and students must preregister by the deadline listed for each program. Please preregister online. Registration closes 1 week prior to the class and late registrations will not be processed. Payment must be made at time of registration, and will not be refunded for no-shows. Advance cancellations can apply their payment to a future Homeschool Day.
