Homeschool Days Program
Second Monday of every month, October–June
Ages 5-13; preregistration is required*
One adult free with each child registration; additional adults $15.
Children under 5 are free of charge and welcome to remain with accompanying adults.
Homeschool Days at the NBMAA are designed for school-aged children by Museum educators. Each month features a different artistic element or medium, historical period, or special exhibit, using the galleries as our classroom. Your students will engage in inquiry-based learning and flex visual literacy skills with in-depth discussions of works of art. We’ll end our sessions with studio workshops – art making, poetry, storytelling – that will allow students to delve deeper into the creative processes behind the works of art that we view. Join us for the entire curriculum, or the programs that best suit your home teaching!
*Enrollment is limited and students must preregister by the deadline listed for each program. Please preregister online. Registration closes 1 week prior to the class; late registrations will not be processed. If a class is sold out, there will be a waitlist. Payment will not be refunded for no-shows. Advance cancellations can apply their payment to a future Homeschool Day. For questions, contact Kate Swanson, Coordinator of Family and Community Programs, at (860) 229-0257, ext. 220 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
