Shauna Shane
Learn the art of Impressionism

Impressionist artist Shauna Shane, a Montana native, has been a professional artist for over 25 years and maintains a studio in the Quiet Corner of Connecticut. She says “I am an artist, a painter, and teacher. My paintings record the inspiration that I experience when I come across a beautiful landscape or a lovely face that just must be captured. My life since I high school has been dedicated to achieving the skill and knowledge that makes communication through a well-placed brushstroke possible.”

“Unlike the common myth that artists are born with talent and have only to start painting, I have found that my art is my musical instrument; taking years of study and practice to master. I believe that having spent 25 years as a full time artist I am now beginning to understand how far the journey is, and the talent I am blessed with is the passion that makes every moment I am immersed in the artistic experience a joy that goes deep into my soul. My goal is simple: to share my love and appreciation of the natural world with others. Reflecting my response to nature my paintings are exuberant with color and energy. I paint in the tradition of America's plein air masters-immersed in the light and atmosphere of the day. There is simply no substitute for the intense experience and first hand observation of nature that occurs when painting from life.”
