Join Museum educator Kate Swanson for a discussion about how Billy Al Bengston's ceramic work demonstrates the Cool School movement’s attitude towards functionality in art. Held in the galleries of the Museum’s featured exhibition, California Dreaming: Ed Moses, Billy Al Bengston, & Ed Ruscha, this talk will focus on the ways in which Bengston and his contemporaries sought to transform traditionally functional materials, such as clay, into modern art.
