NBMAA Trustee and Chairman of the Museum’s Sanford B.D. Low Illustration Committee, Lindsley Wellman will give participants insight into the life of the Museum’s first Director Sanford B.D. Low, and the founding of the Low Illustration Collection. Wellman will end in the Chase Family Gallery, discussing the significance of Thomas Hart Benton, the Arts of Life in America murals, and Benton’s relationship to Low. Then, longtime Low Illustration Committee member and illustrator Vincent Di Fate will guide attendees through our featured exhibition Masterpieces of The Sanford B.D. Low Illustration Collection, underlining the show’s most notable works.
