Borrowing from the artistic traditions of countries represented in Vistas del Sur: Traveler Artists’ Landscapes of Latin America from the Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Collection, Deb Lasher will lead students through projects that utilize weaving, textiles, and more. While creating these functional works, students will gain insight into Latin American cultural traditions.

Deb Lasher is a teacher at Artsplace in Cheshire, CT where she has taught for the past 12 years. She currently teaches drawing and multi-media classes to kindergarten through 6th graders. Lasher’s programs include her original creation ”Fairytopia,” a popular summer art camp, and year-round workshop that allow children’s creativity to flow. Although she has a master’s degree in business, she continues to study a variety of art media, focusing especially on colored pencil.
