Sanford Biggers (B. 1970), Mantra (detail), 2016, Colored Sand, 22 x 22 ft. | © Sanford Biggers
Join the NBMAA for an exclusive opportunity to help “de-install” our site-specific work by Sanford Biggers and participate in the ultimate taboo experience of touching the artwork! Families are invited to take home a piece of the installation in an art activity. Break it down with JuS Hughes, a graduate of Berklee College of Music, in a dance workshop, emphasizing the movement of hip-hop. Help the Museum honor the artist’s vision to close this exhibition, while getting an exclusive chance to touch, dance, and bring a small piece home!
Anyone choosing to participate in the de-installation activity will be required to purchase a bottle for $1 prior, available upstairs outside of the gallery; cash only. Museum staff will be assisting visitors in order to ensure the safety of visitors and our artwork.
