Museum After Dark Pre‐Party: Maya Jeffereis
Friday, June 17, 2016
Skip the lines at Museum After Dark on June 17 and participate in an exclusive gallery talk with New Media artist Maya Jeffereis!
Beginning at 7 p.m., join our featured New Media artist Maya Jeffereis for a discussion about her exhibition, Fallout Shelter. Her video features three people having a hypothetical conversation about the end of the world and who is necessary to keep alive in order to rebuild society (only six out of the ten people can fit in the small shelter). The conversation challenges viewers to contemplate the politics of identity and morality through a values exercise found in a handbook from the site of a former US naval station in Puerto Rico, where Fallout Shelter was filmed. A Q&A session will follow her talk.
Admission will grant you early access to Museum After Dark and an up-close experience with Jeffereis. Participants will also have the opportunity to be featured as a potential subject of this unfinished project during a one-on-one interactive with the artist, following the Q&A.
Tickets are limited and only available prior to the event. Tickets are available online or by calling the Front Desk at (860) 229-0257, ext. 210.
$5 mixed drinks (admission to MAD event, beer, and wine included with admission)
