Join the Museum in welcoming Christopher B. Steiner, Professor of Art History and Anthropology at Connecticut College, for a richly illustrated discussion about the African art market. Learn about the differences between "popular" art and "high" art, as well as how the African art market has respondeds to European and American tastes and trendsart trends. Steiner will also explore the relationships between the country's traditional and contemporary artworks, providing the audience with social and economic context for the works included in Ghana Paints Hollywood.
