Sunday Music Series
Special Music Performance Presented by The Fryderyk Chopin Society of Connecticut, with pianist Ya-Fei Chuang
Sunday, April 30, 2017
Musician: Ya Fei Chuang
Special Note: Due to unforeseen circumstances the April 30th Sunday Music performance with Ya-Fei Chuang will now feature Monika Krajewska, mezzo-soprano, and Yelena Kurdina.
Having emigrated to the United States from Taiwan in 1993, pianist Ya-Fei Chuang has performed both nationally and internationally—a prizewinner at the Cologne International Piano Competition in Germany at the young age of 18. Her mastery of the most challenging solo repertoire is complemented by extensive activities as a chamber musician. Chuang graduated from the New England Conservatory in Boston, and now holds a faculty position there as well as the Boston Conservatory. She has also taught master classes in Asia and Europe.
The Fryderyk Chopin Society of Connecticut is a classical music appreciation group that sponsors several classical music concerts throughout the year, showcasing the works of Fryderyk Chopin and other renowned composers. Founded by Polish pianist Slawomir Dobrzanski as a program of the Polish American Foundation of Connecticut, the Chopin Society has been presenting piano recitals by internationally acclaimed pianists from around the globe and promoting young artists since 1998.
