In June, teens will consider the integration of language into Pop Art-era works by artists such as Ed Ruscha (whose paintings are included in current exhibition California Dreaming: Ed Moses, Billy Al Bengston & Ed Ruscha) and Robert Indiana. Students will then create paintings in acrylic that incorporate words or phrases as the primary component, further exploring the relationship between text and image.
