A view of the Worcester Art Museum
Join us for an artful day in Worcester, MA. In the morning, we will visit the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Art Gallery of the Holy Cross, which has 1,800 square feet with over 400 works, including sculpture, paintings, and photographs.
Before we head to the Worcester Art Museum, we will enjoy a lovely lunch at Sole Proprietor, a popular seafood eatery in the area, with a generous selection of entrée items. Our meal will also include a soft drink or coffee, and dessert.
Developed around two iconic Homer paintings—the Worcester Art Museum’s The Gale, and Milwaukee Art Museum’s Hark! The Lark—the exhibition Coming Away: Winslow Homer and England explores the artist’s time in Cullercoats, England, in 1881 and 1882. Jointly coordinated by the two museums, this exhibition features the most comprehensive group of oils from Homer’s time abroad. Our visit will include a guided tour of the exhibition, as well as self-guided time to explore the Museum.
