Building on the success of our first program during the summer of 2013, ART Reads returns with an evening of conversation and creation inspired by Maurice Sendak. At the request of Maurice Sendak himself, acclaimed novelist Dave Eggers wrote The Wild Things after helping to write the screenplay for the 2009 film Where the Wild Things Are. His book follows in the spirit of the movie by delving deeply into the lives of Max and his wild companions by exploring the question of who the wild things are. Museum educators will lead a book chat followed by a hands-on art activity inspired by the story. All ages are welcome to attend and preregistration is strongly encouraged; please contact the Education Office at (860) 229-0257, ext. 227 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it to reserve your spot!
