The Plein Air Monotype/Monoprint
Sundays, 1-4 p.m.
6 week session: Aug 1 - Sept 5
6 week session: Oct 3 - Nov 7

M.C. Escher was above all a passionate printmaker who used nature as an influence and an inspiration for his amazing prints. The monotype as a print medium has a magical appeal in its beauty allowing both a drawn or painted image. This class will create plates both indoors and out using water based mediums on plexiglass printed on a press. Participants will learn the traditional watercolors, watercolor crayons and pencils and the experimental inks, graphite and collage methods of both monotype and monoprint. Students will explore printing on both watercolor and printmaking papers as well as enhancing the finished print.
