The "Art & Architecture of Rome, Naples, and the Amalfi Coast"

Experience art abroad in a country known for some of the world's most famous master works. In Rome, visit the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Sistine Chapel, Vatican Gardens, and more. In Naples, tour the modern art museum Palazzo of Capodimonte, the Madre (Museo d'Art Contemporance Donnaregina), Palazzo Reginia, and the decorative art museum Floridiana Villa. On the Amalfi Coast see the ruins of Pompeii, the Palace of Caserta, and the Correale Museum in Sorrento. In the Correale Museum, view paintings and furnishings of the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. Enjoy this truly wondrous country, led by Dr. Douglas Hyland, Director of the NBMAA.

Autumn in the Nation's Capital
Visit the Capitol, the Hillwood Museum & Gardens, the Smithsonian and much more!
Sept. 24 - Sept. 26, 2010
DAY 1
Depart NBMAA at 7 a.m. via deluxe motorcoach to visit our beautiful capital on the Potomac River. Our first class Radisson Hotel in Crystal City is a perfect location to base ourselves. This property offers a restaurant, lounge & fitness center. A welcome dinner marks our arrival.
DAY 2
Visit Hillwood Museum & Gardens to see Marjorie Merriweather Post’s glorious estate, renowned for its extensive collection of 18th & 19th-century French & Imperial Russian decorative arts. An afternoon visit to the Smithsonian to explore the wonderful museums at leisure is the perfect way to spend a Fall afternoon.
Return to the hotel to relax and freshen up. Delicious dinner at Tony and Joe’s Seafood Place on beautiful Georgetown Harbor. Take in the breathtaking sight of DC at night on a riding Washington-by-Night Tour of the illuminated monuments!
DAY 3
Meet our local guide for a City Tour of DC to see the city’s famous memorials, including the Vietnam and Korean War Memorials and the FDR and World War II Memorials…a must see! Homeward bound with amazing memories of our visit to this unforgettable destination.
