Medicine & Art Program The program aims to develop observational skills and is intended for medical students, medical professionals, social workers and other professionals who would benefit from improving observational and visual literacy skills to enhance utilization of visual evidence in clinical settings. This program emphasizes visual analysis and observation-based learning. Trainees will learn techniques necessary for conducting a deep analysis of a work of art with a student group. The program aims to develop patient assessment skills while developing participants’ ability to use fine art enjoyment as a stress- reliever during medical careers. Medicine & Art: “Train the Trainer” This program is intended to train museum staff and docents to administer the Medicine & Art program. The training aims to develop and improve observational and visual literacy skills to enhance utilization of visual evidence in clinical encounters. This program emphasizes visual analysis and observation-based learning. Trainees will learn techniques necessary for conducting a deep analysis of a work of art with a student group.
