Access for All Community Day | Women's History Month
Join us in honoring the lives and works of women on view at the Museum! There will be something for everyone as we feature artmaking and movement workshops, as well as a participatory conversation around works by women artists in the Museum’s collection.
We are excited to offer Free Admission all day once a month, thanks to generous support provided by Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program.

Programs:
- Drop-in printmaking and mixed media explorations influenced by Saya Woolfalk’s Birthing a New Sky
- 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
- Come and explore her mesmerizing artwork in the special exhibition, Women Reframe American Landscape. Immerse yourself in the vibrant colors and intricate shapes that blend together to create Woolfalk's stunning pieces. Then, unleash your own creativity and let your imagination soar as you craft a one-of-a-kind mixed media artwork using printmaking and collage techniques. Through your use of shapes and colors, you'll be able to powerfully convey your own message.
- Coffee with Curators
- 2-3 p.m.
- Join a participatory gallery walkthrough followed by conversations around women artists in NBMAA’s collection. Featuring Sherry Buckberrough, Nancy Noble (co-curators of Women Artists @ New Britain Museum. 2010-2011), and Rashmi Viswanathan (Assistant Professor of Modern and Contemporary Art History at the University of Hartford).

- Dance Roulette
- The Hartford Dance Collective will lead interactive sessions in front of works of art, encouraging visitors to respond to artworks through movement and dance. The Collective bridges the gap between dance and the community by curating unique performances featuring female leaders.
- 11-11:20 a.m.
- 11:50 a.m.-12:10 p.m.
- 12:40-1 p.m.
- 1:30-1:50 p.m.

- Mommy & Me Yoga - all parents are welcome!
- Limited capacity - the event is free, but registration is required
- Led by a certified and experienced instructor, Mary from West Hartford Yoga, these sessions will occur in NEW/NOW Anila Quayyum Agha: Illuminations. Please bring your own mat. There will be 3 separate sessions based on children’s age ranges:
- 11-11:30 a.m. (0-2 years)
- 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. (3-4 years)
- 12:30-1:15 p.m. (5+)
