ABOUT THE EVENT
Homeschool Day | Colors and Shapes
Explore colors and shapes in this special Homeschool Day. Led by one of the Museum's knowledgeable docents, students will explore our galleries, discovering works that strongly utilize color. Then, in the American Savings Foundation Art and Education Center studios, students will use paint to create large-scale shapes in a variety of colors. Students will work together, think creatively, and problem solve as they, arrange these pieces together to create a large-scale artwork as a class on the wall in Studio B.
This Homeschool Day will encourage participants to not only learn the basics of color theory, the relationships between color and shapes, and also about the importance of negative space and composition. This installation will stay on view through the next Homeschool Day, and can be picked up at the end of March.
