Lecture | A History of Nutmeg State Brewing

In partnership with the New Britain Public Library. On Saturday November 5, at 2:00 p.m., author Will Siss will present a lively and informative presentation and lead a discussion about the history of Connecticut beer, its current state, and its future. Following Will’s presentation will be a beer tasting session featuring local beer from Alvarium brewery.

Siss has written a column called “Beer Snob” for the Waterbury Republican-American since 2005 and has witnessed the rapid growth of Connecticut breweries during that time. He is also the author of Connecticut Beer: A History of Nutmeg State Brewing (History Press, 2015). Siss, who is also a teacher and musician, has had his work published in national magazines, including Beer Advocate and Brew Your Own.
