Members Trip: Cambridge, MA-Harvard and Mt. Auburn Cemetery

Join us for a trip to Cambridge, MA. Spend the morning on a guided walking tour of Mt. Auburn Cemetery, a noted arboretum and the final resting place of notable Americans, including Isabella Stewart Gardner, Winslow Homer, and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Mt. Auburn Cemetery is a designated National Historic Landmark District and is acknowledged as the beginning of the American public parks and gardens movement. Spend lunch on your own at the CambridgeSide shopping center, located near the Museum of Science.

Finish the day with a docent-led tour of the famous Ware Collection of Blaschka Glass Models of Plants, better known as the “Glass Flowers,” at the Harvard Museum of Natural History. The collection holds over 4,000 models dating back to 1886 and created by glass artisans Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka.
