Pastels with Mary Beth Sasso

 — 

Learn all the essential techniques and instructions needed for using the pastel medium. Students will learn step-by-step techniques taught by Mary Beth Sasso. Learn the importance of values, color, line, form/shape, composition, and texture. Plus many more techniques to paint beautiful pastel paintings.

We will also discuss various papers, tools, materials, and the importance of underdrawing. Great for beginners/intermediate levels or anyone who would like to brush up on their skills.

Six-week class. Fridays at 12-2 p.m. April 1, 8, 22, 29; May 6, 13

About Mary Beth Sasso:

Mary Beth specializes in pastel painting capturing the true essence of each subject. She is an Adjunct Art Professor at Santa Rosa Junior College teaching basic drawing and pastel painting classes. In addition, she teaches private classes and workshops in Connecticut. www.marybethsasso.com

Ms. Sasso has exhibited in numerous shows in California and Connecticut. She is a member of Northwest Connecticut Arts Council, Connecticut Pastel Society, Pastel Society of the West Coast (past board member). Petaluma Arts Center (past board member), Creative Sonoma, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, and Sebastopol Center for the Arts.
