Grace Figueroa "PoeticSouldier" Bio
Poetic Souldier aka Grace Figueroa is originally from Hartford, Connecticut, and currently resides in New Britain. Moved around a lot due to her years in the Army, she is a Combat Veteran. This well rounded woman has been writing all her life using it as a form of therapy and guiding others to do the same. Confirming her passion, she has a few published pieces in magazines such as “Black Noise” and “Savage Latina." She is a published author of the book titled "Five Many Moons" and working on the audiobook version of it for her followers.
Poetic Souldier has had the honor of featuring in New Britain, Connecticut’s “Women Making History” showcase, many Juneteenth Celebrations with amazing local artists, representing the Afro Caribbean culture, Black History Month showcases for the youth in many school districts, she has featured at "Hot Chocolate Soul" at the Bushnell Theater, and made an appearance at The Funny Bone. She is the recipient of the "Phenomenal Women in Business Award" and of the 100 Women of Color for her entrepreneurship of being the first Female to own a Licensed Security Guard Service business in CT named D.A.P. Security, LLC. When she isn’t attending Spoken Word poetry at local venues, and helping to keep establishments safe, she's judged harshly on her outdated dance moves by her comedic children.
