GROUP VISIT REQUEST FORM

Guided Gallery Conversations

Experience the beauty and wonder of the Museum together! One of our Docents will lead your group through engaging conversations around works of art throughout the Museum. We invite you to browse our menu of themes to align with your group's interests.

American Canvas

  • This one-hour Docent-led conversation provides an introduction to the Museum’s history and highlights selections from the permanent collection and current exhibitions.

Global Perspectives

  • Through its exhibitions, the Museum represents multidimensional American perspectives to promote free expression, cultural exchange, and personal and collective growth. Explore the unfolding story of America through artworks that represent and celebrate our nation’s diverse artistic legacy.

Featured Exhibitions | Dive deeper into one of the Museum’s special exhibitions:

  • April 12 - July 5, 2026: The Museum of the Old Colony: An Art Installation by Pablo Delano is a conceptual, site-specific, and continually evolving project that confronts the complex legacies of U.S. colonial rule in Puerto Rico since the occupation of 1898. Unlike conventional exhibitions, the installation functions as a single immersive work of art. Referencing the conventions of traditional historical or anthropological museums, Delano’s fictional institution incorporates and re-contextualizes a dense assemblage of archival photographs, books, artworks, objects, and moving pictures such as newsreels and documentaries.

Guided Gallery Conversation + Studio

Join us for a new two-hour extended program that pairs a Docent-led tour of the galleries with a hands-on art studio.

The Art of Still Life

  • Take a focused look into some of the Museum’s celebrated still life works by artists like Robert Duncanson, Raphaelle Peale, Severin Roesen, William Harnett, John Haberle, John La Farge, and Justin Favela. Gallery conversations will center around how artists transform ordinary everyday objects into extraordinary compositions. In the studio component, participants will learn and practice drawing and shading techniques through creating their own still life.

Experimentations with Printmaking

  • Taking inspiration from pop artists who created art that reflected modern American culture by challenging traditional definitions of fine art, a Museum Docent will lead participants through discussions of the varied ways artists use the printmaking process. Following the gallery portion, participants will explore techniques in our new printmaking studio.
