PARKING

Handicap Parking: Upon entry to the lot, veer to the right.

Regular Parking: Please follow the left hand directional sign. There is additional parking in a lot connected at the back of the driveway (Park Place) and in a lot to the left of the driveway (Lindquist Property at 24 Lexington Street). Also, there is always free street parking on Lexington Street and along the Walnut Hill Park side of the Museum.

The NBMAA has been asked to inform visitors not to park in the lot at the Medical Building, 33 Lexington Street; unauthorized vehicles parked there will be towed at the owner’s expense.

DIRECTIONS

From Interstate 84 East & West:

• Take Exit 35 (left exit) onto Rte. 72E.
• Follow signs to New Britain and take Columbus Blvd, exit 8.
• At the exit light, turn right and proceed to the next light.
• Take a right onto West Main Street
• Take a left before Bank of America onto Lexington St.
• Museum and free parking lot are on the left.

From Interstate 91:

• Take Exit 22N, onto Rte. 9.
• Follow Rte. 9 to exit 28.
• Follow Rte. 72W to Corbin Ave, exit 7.
• At exit light, turn right, proceed to next light, and turn right onto West Main St.
• One block after the third light, turn right after Bank of America onto Lexington St.
• Museum and free parking lot are on the left.

From NYC, Begin on I-95 North:

• Merge onto I-91 North via exit 48.
• Take exit 22N onto Rte. 9.
• Follow Rte. 9 to exit 28.
• Follow Rte. 72W to Corbin Ave., exit 7.
• At exit light, turn right, proceed to next light, and turn right onto West Main St.
• One block after the third light, turn right after Bank of America onto Lexington St.
• Museum and free parking lot are on the left.

• Turn right onto W Main st
• Take the first left onto Grove Hill
• Continue onto Lake St.
• Immediately turn right onto Rte. 72W

For 84 E:

• Follow Rte. 72W, take Exit 6 to merge onto 84E

For 84 W:

• Follow Rte. 72W
• Keep left onto 84W

To Rte. 9N and S:

• Take a left out of the Museum Parking Lot
• Turn right onto W Main St
• After .7 miles at the round about, take the first right onto Columbus Blvd.

To Rte. 9N:

• At the Goodwill, turn left onto Chestnut St.
• Turn left onto Rte. 9N

To Rte. 9S:

• Continue on Columbus Blvd for about 1.3 mi.
• At the light, turn Left onto Rte. 9S

Directions via public transportation:

From NYC to New Britain:
Take Metro-North commuter from Grand Central Station to New Haven’s Union Station. From Union Station, head southwest toward Union Ave. and turn left onto Union Ave. to get to the New Haven Bus Station (on the left). Take a Greyhound to New Britain. From the Greyhound Bus Station, head west on W Main St. toward Washington St. Turn left onto Lexington St. The Museum will be on the left.

From Boston to New Britain:
From South Station, take a Peter Pan bus to Union Station in Hartford, CT. Then, walk to the Asylum St. and High St. Bus Station and get on CTFastrak Route 101 to CTFastrak and New Britain Station Bay J. You can either walk approximately 15 minutes to the Museum (directions below); call a taxi, Uber, or Lyft; or take the 502/3 bus route to W Main St. and Curtis St., then head east toward Lexington St., turn right after Bank of America Financial Center (on the right). The Museum will be on the left.

Walking Direction from CTFastrak and New Britain Station Bay J:

• Head west toward Main St.
• Turn left onto Main St.
• Turn right onto W Main St.
• Turn left onto Lexington St.
• Museum and free parking will be on the left

From Bradley Airport:
Take Terminal A to Central Row and OSH in Harford. Then, walk west on Central Rd. and turn left onto Main St. toward Main St. and Travelers station. Ride 923-Bristol Express to CTFastrak and New Britain Station Bay J. From there, head west toward Main St., turn left onto Main St., turn right onto W Main St., then turn left onto Lexington St. The Museum will be on the left.

OR

From Main St., turn left onto Columbus Blvd. and head toward the Columbus Blvd. and Main St. bus station. Take the 502 to W Main St. and Curtis St. Then, walk east on W Main St. toward Lexington St. Turn right after Bank of America Financial Center (on the right). The Museum will be on the left.

There is ample on-street parking for buses nearby.

ACCESSIBILITY
The Museum is handicapped accessible. A ramp is located to the right of the Museum parking lot leading to the front door. All public levels of the Museum are accessible by elevators and wheelchairs/walkers are available upon request.
