ABOUT THE EVENT
Alfred Stieglitz: The Eloquent Eye
In conjunction with The Beyond: Georgia O’Keeffe and Contemporary Art, the NBMAA will screen the PBS documentary, Alfred Stieglitz: The Eloquent Eye, exploring the life of the photographer who was famously married to O’Keeffe from 1924-1946.
The first full-length documentary on Stieglitz, the film examines Stieglitz’s life, his four-decade long career, and his seminal influence on shaping a new vision for American arts and culture. Stieglitz’s work would ultimately serve to capture a rapidly modernizing America, as well as canonize photography as a legitimate form of artistic expression.
