Kalup Linzy Bio
Kalup Linzy is a video and performance artist known for his politically charged videos that explore the themes of community, sexuality, gender, and identity. He is involved in all aspects of producing his works, including writing, directing, filming, and performing. Linzy received an MFA from the University of South Florida and studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting of Sculpture. He has won many awards for his work, including a grant from the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation, the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation fellowship, Creative Capital Foundation grant, a Jerome Foundation Fellowship, an Art Matters Grant, The Headlands Center for the Arts Alumni Awards Residency, and a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Film and Video.
